Safety and Security at The Gathering
The Gathering is a ticketed licensed over 18 event.Please make sure you bring along your Valid Photo ID for entry and bar access. Remember no valid photo ID, no entry!
No BYO allowed
No glass allowed
Remember to bring your ticket, important phone numbers, sun block, any medication you may need, a hat, covered shoes and a charged mobile phone. If you have any chronic conditions or illness (ie asthma, diabetes, epilepsy) be sure to carry information regarding your condition & emergency contact number on you at all times.
Some of the artists appearing at The Gathering may use lyrics, language or gestures whilst entertaining that some people may find offensive. If such language or behavior concerns you, please do not attend. If you do like bad language and terrible/pornographic behavior in general, be sure to visit The Snuff Box. Allow enough time to get to, and into the show. We have intricate traffic management plans and ample lanes and entry gates and are not expecting any major delays. However, in the unlikely event of delays please be patient.
Make sure you dress in accordance with the weather forecast. Wear suitable shoes for a country paddock and bring a raincoat if needed. This event is in spring In Melbourne. Expect four seasons in one day. The Gathering will get chilly at night.
Make sure you pace yourself, drink plenty of water, eat enough food to maintain energy through the day. We also have plenty of areas for relaxing!
We have been told to expect the constabulary and canine associates to make one their customary festival appearances. You may be sniffed at inside and outside the show and even at car parks or public transport hubs.
You can bring a small bag or backpack but remember that it will take longer to get into the show with bag checks, etc There will be a cloak room available on site.
Not Permitted Items
Glass (not including perfume), Flares, Dangerous items, Alcohol, Umbrellas, Professional Video Recording cameras, Tape Recorders (does not include mobile phones), Weapons/Dangerous Items, Illicit Drugs, Fireworks, Balls (footballs, soccer balls, etc), Stickers & Flyers.Permitted Items
You are permitted to bring 1 fully sealed bottle of water and sandwiches to the show.Check the back of your ticket and the website for a full list of conditions of entry and conditions of ticket sale.
Security
Whether it's entering, leaving or in the festival you will be required to abide by any reasonable request given by our friendly security. Remember that they are there to keep you and the entire festival safe. If you need help or see someone else requiring help please notify security straight away.Emergency Evacuation
In the highly unlikely event that an area or the entire site may be required to be evacuated or cleared, please follow any instruction given by security, emergency services or event staff. Information will be provided on video screens and over the public address system.First Aid
There will be two first aid stations (near main stage and near stage 2) to treat people who are genuinely ill or have injured themselves on the day. Please note that the St John officers are volunteering their services on the day to help you. BE NICE!Can I Bring My Camera?
No professional photography equipment is permitted however point and click cameras and mobile phones are fine. No recording devices of any kind will be permitted.Water Stations
There will be free water fountains and taps located around the site. Maps will be handed out at the front gate, which will point these stations out.Accessable Information
The Gathering is being held in a large, flat but country style garden. It may be difficult terrain for some to roll or walk over. Accessible toilets will be provided however people with special needs need to plan their day carefully and attend with friends or carers.Pass Outs
No pass outs will be allowed from the event on the day.If you're a smoker please bring enough for the day as legislation prevents tobacco sales on site.

Transport Overview: |
The festival site is located approximately 43km from the Melbourne GPO. The nearest Metro train station is Werribee Station. You cannot walk from the train station to the site. We have some lots of free shuttle buses from the train station. The best way to get to and from the festival is by train and free shuttle. There is a local bus service (439) that also stops at the train station and goes to the festival site. A user pay chartered bus service will also be operating from Melbourne and possibly country (subject to demand) areas direct to the festival site. Plan your journey that best suits you. Limited car parking is available on site. |

The best place to get and check up to date train schedules and timetables and to ensure you have the latest information is from the metlinkmelbourne website. For all the latest train details go to: http://www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au Getting there: V line Trains run direct from Geelong and Southern Cross to Werribee, on the Geelong line. The trip takes approximately 30 mins from Southern Cross. Please check metlinkmelbourne website for exact departure times/train schedule. Tickets Free Event Shuttle buses - will operate on a regular basis throughout the day from Werribee station to the festival. The first shuttle bus will meet the train arriving into Werribee station after 10.00am. The shuttle bus will operate on a first come, first served basis and a short wait may be required. The shuttle bus will take approximately 20 mins from Werribee station to the festival site. Getting home: Extra Festival Special trains from Werribee to the City have been scheduled in addition to the regular service. Below are the trains that leave after the festival has finished. | Free Shuttle Bus | For the return journey, the event shuttle bus will depart from Werribee Park to meet departing trains. It is your responsibility to ensure you allow enough time to meet your train. ** Please note - It is not possible to walk to/from the festival site from Werribee Station. |

Event Chartered coaches |
Coaches will also operate directly to the festival from the city. This service must be pre booked. Buses depart from Federation Square on the Russell St extension. Coaches will depart at 10am, 11.30 am and 1pm. Return buses to depart Werribee Park at the end of the event. Return travel from Melbourne costs $40 +bf - this doesn’t include the entry ticket to The Gathering Festival. Regional bookings to and from Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong is possible, pending demand. NightRider Bus –944 - departs from the Werribee terminus at the corner of Ballan and McGrath Road (Wyndham Vale) and runs via Ballan Road, McGrath Road, Heaths Road, Morris Road, Old Geelong Road, Princes Highway, Princes Freeway, Central Avenue, Queen Street, Maidstone Street, Blyth Street, Millers Road, Mason Street, Melbourne Road, West Gate Freeway, Lorimer Street, Montague Street, Wurundjeri Way, Flinders Street and Swanston Street to the City Square terminus in Swanston Street between Flinders Lane and Collins Street. Parking: Car park opens |
There is limited on-site parking for cars and there is a designated area for parking coaches and drop off and taxi ranks. Please obey parking and traffic signs. Allow plenty of time to park your car and get to the show. Onsite Parking is subject to weather. |

The Gathering supports the designated driver program. Vanessa and little Vanessa will be on site providing information, chill out space and breath testing for drivers. |

Taxi & Drop Off |
For Drop off and taxi please follow directions on arrival. A cab costs approx $80 -$100 from the city to the festival site. DO NOT rely on local taxis to get you home. |
